Constructed of tombak, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a central white enameled disc overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel bearing an enameled HJ insignia, flanked by a date of 1939 and topped by an inscription of KRIEGSSIEGER, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker
